Being in a Environment with so much diversity really shows how far society has been uplifted. To know my skin color was accepted in a place of learning really showcases that it not only influences future education but also the people within those environments, Eastside Memorial Really helped me feel accepted and also helped me grow as a person because I thought it was a set back to attend a school of color because as a kid you’re taught that it’s embarrassing to be a Person of color now it’s seen as blatant racism which is obvious now that I’m older. When attending a diverse high school you see so much culture, love, and bonding through different cultures between friends, students, And Teachers as well. To be a Educator of colored Students I think it’s really important that you teach among them not only for education but to learn, grow, and be something when they’re older so they’re able to break society rules of what they think of People of color!. Overall my school was Amazing!.
My Eastside Memorial experience has been great! I wasn't always the best student , my freshman & sophomore year I was a very influential student, & I let my peers pressure me into trying to be cool and skipping school a lot. Although I must say my junior year took a drastic turn , the administrators talked with me and helped me realize what I was doing was wrong and how I wasn't going to be able to continue my education if I kept up the bad behavior. They now have me on a path to graduation and I appreciate it so much.
The thing like about Eastside Memorial High that the teachers are always willing to help you out whenever you are in need of help, they will request for you to in in during lunch or during advisory or even go to Saturday school. One thing I would like to see different is how the school try's to make International and Eastside so different like as if they're just their... when truthfully we are ONE and our background is not what defines who we are.
