Life at Eastside was wonderful, the faculty and staff always treated the students with respect and expected the same back. The school was very welcoming and had a friendly atmosphere about it, it even offered a few unique classes that other high schools in the county didn’t. For example, Current Events. Current Events was a class dedicated to teaching students to think for themselves. It was essentially a water down sociology class. They read over the local newspaper three times a week and played a Jeopardy! Game involving current events the other days. The school is very competitive athletically as well as academically! The pep rallies were always great the cheerleaders, band, and the football team always made such a grand event of a Friday. It was overall a wonderful experience and I would recommend this school to just about anyone!
There are amazing teachers and aids that are willing to help you with any work that you need help with. The school has amazing activities for the students to do and get involved with. The clubs are amazing, there are so many to chose from and they are diverse as well. So, there is something for everyone!
I would like to see the administration be more open to students' ideas about certain activities. Many of the requests made by students are allowed at other schools in our county and are typical high school experiences, such as a semi-formal homecoming dance and decorating graduation caps.
