I'm very disappointed with some the reviews I see here, but I would like to address the comment below. I've been at Eastland for a bit over six years, and I've NEVER witnessed a teacher being "racist" or "misogynistic." If anything, the teachers here stress the fact that we are all EQUALLY made. In a sharp contrast to our falling society which increasingly treats women like objects, students are taught that men need to step up and treat women RIGHT or they will be judged. Yes, there have been students who don't show Christian character and hurt others, but this issue is so much worse in the public schools where you don't have teachers/other students who are Biblically grounded and will defend your rights. Also, general side note for other commenters, it's YOUR responsibility to prepare for college. Don't blame your school for you failing/not getting into college when you didn't even do research on your behalf or prepare appropriately for college entrance exams.
Very much racist. It’s giving very much Trumpies and misogynistic vibes. All the other teachers are sad and racist and misogynistic. I loved the Abeka book curriculum though. As a black girl, I experienced so much discrimination about my hair from students and the teachers stood by and watched. I was called a “boy,” “broccoli head,” “nappy headed,” and a kid licked my food and a teacher did NOTHING. As strong as I was, I’m glad I wasn’t greatly emotionally impacted. Despite my outstanding academic profile, I felt out of place and I’m so glad I left and went to a better school. A diverse PUBLIC school were I was accepted and excelled. The only employees that were kind to me was Ms. Kelly, Ms. Ward, and Ms. Melina. That’s it, that’s the review. Don’t send your kids to this “Christian” school. They are NOT in the image of Christ, very far from it.
I attended Eastland my entire life. I don’t really have any other experiences to compare it to. The school itself is very small, and has an “everybody knows everybody” status. I played four out of the six sports available: football, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, and soccer. I thoroughly enjoyed and miss participating in the athletic program. With great teammates who all had a passion and love for the game, games and practices were always something to look forward to. The teachers push you to do your best and coupled with my own personal drive, it allowed me to excel academically. This school has its ups and downs, but in the end my experience with Eastland is something I will greatly cherish.
