Eastlake is a fantastic school and I absolutly love it! It has so much spirit and you get to build great relationships with your teachers, who you can really feel want you to succeed. There are also so many elective and class choices so you really get to experience potential career choices! The only thing I wish theu did more of is closer teacher inspections because there are a couple teachers there who aren't and Eastlake would be a better place without them.
Review Eastlake High School
I recently graduated from Eastlake high school and I enjoyed my time there very much. The school culture tries to be very inclusive, although there are definitely people who are not. There is very little diversity as it is located Sammamish and the city itself is mostly rich white people. There are amazing teachers (i.e. Rachelle Horner, Don Bartel, Darin Fisher) and some subpar teachers as well. Cafeteria food is not good, but that's high school. Sports teams are very fun, there's is motivation to be a competitor but not a crazy pressure to be the best. Academics are pretty good its one of the best schools in King county. There's lots of clubs for people to get involved in things they like, and its super easy to start your own if you find the options lacking. The school places a lot of emphasis on getting into college and most people do. Very few people don't graduate, I think the percentage was like 98% graduate. Its incredibly safe as its located in a rich suburb.
Eastlake High School is somewhere I'm proud to call my home for four years. There have been many opportunities for me academically where I've learned more about myself as a person including in my UW Composition class. I think that if I didn't take this class my experience would be much different. I've learned the flaws in the diversity and the school's application of Title IX laws and the importance of them in learning programs. Besides these flaws, the community and staff here have truly benefitted my learning habitat.
