I overall like my experience in high school being the extra activities and clubs that were allowed, not necessarily anything about the school itself because a lot of things changed all of my years attending this school. A lot of the teachers that I got close with were actually also a good part of my school experience because they made my learning fun and helped me understand things more than teachers that wouldn't like to be there. If I wanted to see something change about this school it would be the over restriction, I say this because even though we are still teens I feel that we as a school should be able to have more fun than strictly be about business and having to constantly be stressed.
Eastern High School, for me, was an opportunity to engage in an older community. It is the only high school I have ever gone to, but it is also one of the most popular in my city. My overall experience was, in all honesty, a travesty for how the Lansing School District has been represented over the years; this specific school has gone through multiple negative AND positive changes since I first began going. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as other schools in this area that have been overrated (I hear Sexton is worse on bullying). One positive reform this school has endured is how students treat each other. 7th grade was terrible, but as I grew in this particular environment, I began making changes to myself that made me who I am today (or as I like to say, the better version of me). From my review, you can see it may not be the BEST school to attend in this city, but it definitely IS one of the most revolutionary experiences one can have from a high school.
Though every school has their ups and downs, Eastern stays to be a strong and diverse school turning every corner with diversity in which you never have to feel alone of feel as if you are cut out at this school there is honestly many opportunities you can take as long as you keep your head in the game and stay straight ahead.
