Very great teachers that care about you and your education. Everyone I have met at East Surry has been very nice and welcoming. The sports at East Surry are outstanding in just about every sport. If any issue comes up, the administration knows just how to handle the issue. I have had so much fun at Friday night football games. We would have themes every Friday and the whole student section would participate. I would say the school spirit at East Surry is excellent. I felt very safe at East Surry. Everyone had key cards that were necessary to get into the doors of the building. At the football games, no bookbag was allowed in order to keep everyone safe from someone sneaking in weapons of any sort. The teachers aren't just teachers at East Surry, they also are there for you if you are dealing with any personal issues they are there to help you. I have had a very great 4 years at East Surry High School, and I will miss it very much!
I have enjoyed my 4 years at East Surry despite the last two being very different due to covid-19. The majority of the staff and teachers are very understanding and care about every student they teach. I would like to see some more modern updates be implemented into the school and maybe have more opportunities for different types of classes be explored. Before the pandemic one of my favorite things about East Surry was just how lively it could be, being in a small town most of the students know each other and many parents even know the teachers personally which creates the lively atmosphere I've come to miss due to covid-19.
I enrolled as a Sophomore, so I was anxious about starting a new high school my sophomore year. The Teachers and Administrative staff welcomed me and provided support and guidance to me. The school stressed the importance of taking advantage of obtaining college credits while still in high school. Communication on all levels, both verbal and written, was better than I had experienced before. I valued Easy Surry's learning environment which was free of bullying and allowed individualism.
