My overall experience being a student at East Rowan was average. I would change the experience by starting more clubs and being more involved. Community involvement needs to be made a priority and at East Rowan, it was not. Many of the teachers did not care about the students like they should which is not fair to any student or their education. More parent involvement could overall help the school because of booster help for finances. Being an athlete at this school I was wearing a softball uniform from 1994 because we did not have the money and the boosters to provide that money to get us new uniforms. I think overall getting parents and the community involved with our school could help better the atmosphere of our school.

Each year they have a different schedule. All four years of high school we had all new schedules and ways of doing things. Teachers are not very enthusiastic about their jobs which makes students uninterested and not intrigued. Bullying, drugs, and racism play a big part in this school. Kids are constantly getting sent out of class and drug dogs come in and search the school and parking lot. We have had students arrested for bringing weapons to school. One just last month brought a gun to school and three students were arrested. There are multiple fights almost every week and kids often worry about their safety.
I wish administration, teachers, and counselors would take time to consider the needs of the students more, listening to their concerns and problems rather than brushing over the issues that many people have complained about on several occasions. Certain teachers and counselors are not helpful.
