It is a great school in a beautiful building and I have enjoyed my years there. I like that the school focuses a lot on both good academics and athletics even though there is a big focus on athletics. I have enjoyed almost all my classes at East Ridge and I love the relationships that we get with the teachers even though the classes are anywhere from 20-35 students. I also love how there are so many different clubs and activities to choose from which makes it possible for all students to find something that fits them! Like with any school, there is room for improvement with some things but I couldn't have gone to a better school!

Staff and students discriminate against students who live in neighboring cities. Staff will run from conflict. They will push students with special needs into having an issue. School Resource officer follows students with Special needs around the school and say comments like smells like weed. The staff do not stop bullying, despite the training they gave students. They don’t listen to parents concerns. They are never available. Their is an attendance lady who is very rude, laughs at students trying to get help. Has marked attendance wrong on the students she doesn’t like. She should not be working there or with students. Only supportive staff is their counselors who actually care about students future. They try and push the “trouble” kids to the Alternative School. They are all in the wrong profession. The administration clearly can’t stand students. So sad!
I completed all four years of high school at East Ridge. Overall, I had an amazing high school experience. I loved the atmosphere of the school. I felt that the teachers genuinely cared about their students, not just academically but also personally. I specifically had a close connection with an English teacher I had my junior year. I personally struggled with English all throughout high school, but I believe the relationship I formed with my teacher helped lead me to academic success. As lots of teachers at East Ridge do, my English teacher junior year spent time creating friendly relationships with all of his students. This relationship allowed me to feel more comfortable asking questions in his class. Once I was frequently asking questions I became much more interested in what we were learning and found out that although English is my weakest subject I really enjoy learning it. This is just one of many examples of the amazing student teacher relationships I formed at East Ridge.
