East Moline Christian School Reviews

Worst school in the area, so called Christian school... administration is poor and collect books fees but doesn't give any books, they make all copies from the old books and give it to students. If you are putting your kids to kindergarten... be very careful about some of the teachers, they don't know how to write the alphabets which is base to any kindergartners. They don't have any school competitions like spelling bee, Geo bee, history bee, Math club, etc., this will hurt your kids education in middle and high school.
I spent eight years at this school. It pushed me to become a student, athlete, and individual. The small environment produces friendships as strong as family.
EMCS has been very good to my family and me. The teachers can be harsh, but that is what I expect from teachers. They push you to be so much better and achieve more than you thought you could achieve. There are also many fun things that EMCS does throughout the year that keep it fresh and fun.
The so called pastor is a liar, Chauvinist,( when I had a problem with my son being bullied he said and I quote " maybe you should have his father come into talk to me", he is a hypocrite and in my opinion a big fat liar! My son went there from 2003 to 2013. He was bullied by a student who would try to choke him. This student's mother was my son's teacher. when I told the so called pastor that if that student put his hands on my son again I would have charges brought against the student. that student stopped but his mother my son's teacher start to subtly bully my son. The so called pastor and his wife are also bullies as they tried to bully me several times when I had a complaint and I witness them try to bully my son. While he was there his grades were not good and he was held back the year I pulled him out. Since he has been in public school he has been and A and B student. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL IT IS NOT A REAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL THEY ARE SO ALL ABOUT THE MONEY
The curriculum's foundation for early education is strong and worth the money. Diversity? Elementary is where it stops; and for good reason. Most of our International friends are under the 7th grade. They come to get a good foundation in reading, writing, math, and a safe Biblical background then (very wisely) transfer them to an ACTUAL COLLEGE PREP school (public or private) with a STEM-based curriculum that prepares students for good higher learning. EMCS has no guidance counselor in any form; a TERRIBLE tool to NOT have in a high school. Core class teachers change every year or half year; By the time students/teachers adapt, the year or teacher is gone causing many students struggle in the math and sciences at Real universities and colleges missing out on MANY scholarships. The school's only "college prep" focus, (pressure) is toward Pensacola Christian College; a decent, cheap school in Florida with accreditation issues. (I recommend QC Christian)

I loved attending here! It has an amazing Christian atmosphere, and it really helped me become a well-rounded Christian and citizen. It focused greatly on my own Christian character by teaching what the Bible says to be true. The academics is rigorous, but the teachers are devoted to seeing you excel. I'd love to see my school expand and grow as it continues to pursues it's goal to teach the new generation to be the leaders of tomorrow!
The school is very advanced, and that is what I like most about it. Also, my teachers want to see every student succeed. The environment is great to be in, and I have made lifelong friends.
