When I attended East Moline Christian School, aside from the favorite students, the rest were treated cruelly by teachers. We were screamed at, never allowed to speak out of turn, and in the many cases I was personally blamed for something I had not done, I was never allowed to defend myself. The favorite students were never punished, even when they were bullying others. I would become physically ill each morning before school, which eventually developed into chronic migraines that I deal with nearly a decade later.
I loved attending here! It has an amazing Christian atmosphere, and it really helped me become a well-rounded Christian and citizen. It focused greatly on my own Christian character by teaching what the Bible says to be true. The academics is rigorous, but the teachers are devoted to seeing you excel. I'd love to see my school expand and grow as it continues to pursues it's goal to teach the new generation to be the leaders of tomorrow!
The curriculum's foundation for early education is strong and worth the money. Diversity? Elementary is where it stops; and for good reason. Most of our International friends are under the 7th grade. They come to get a good foundation in reading, writing, math, and a safe Biblical background then (very wisely) transfer them to an ACTUAL COLLEGE PREP school (public or private) with a STEM-based curriculum that prepares students for good higher learning. EMCS has no guidance counselor in any form; a TERRIBLE tool to NOT have in a high school. Core class teachers change every year or half year; By the time students/teachers adapt, the year or teacher is gone causing many students struggle in the math and sciences at Real universities and colleges missing out on MANY scholarships. The school's only "college prep" focus, (pressure) is toward Pensacola Christian College; a decent, cheap school in Florida with accreditation issues. (I recommend QC Christian)
