East High School gave me an amazing experience. Within East High School I was granted multiple opportunities to pursue leadership roles to help my peers along with myself succeed. I hold the Student Council Vice President role, where I work with the Principle and all the other council members to create safe and exciting events throughout the school year for the whole staff and student body. Along with that I hold the position of the West Chester East Dance Teams Captain, and National Honors Society Secretary. Without the help of the amazing staff and extracurricular options East has provided for me, I wouldn't be the student I am today. The environment created from this school has helped me succeed in so many ways, create friendships that will last forever, and prepare me for the future. While not every day is perfect, the memories created here from just sitting in the classroom to friday night lights surrounded with all my fellow classmates has made me so beyond happy.
I moved to Pennsylvania in my freshman year of high school, and I have to say this was a great school to go to. Even though I am only a sophomore in high school, I can say that so far, my experience has been very good. The athletics are good, there is a trainer, physical therapist, etc. Also, I am immersed in the arts programs, and I have to say the orchestra and bands are very good quality. The funding for the programs are not the best, but there is a lot of heart that the teachers have, and that resonates with the students energy with learning. There are many AP classes to take, and there is also dual enrollment, so no shortage of challenging courses. As for the student body itself, most people are nice and welcoming, especially to the new kids in school! School spirit is an important thing here, and anyone wondering where to send their kids, East is a very good choice. Most students and families here are white, but most are welcoming and show hospitality to other minorities.
I've sent three very different children to West Chester East and I can say it is 5 stars. The Administration and the teachers are talented and caring. The instruction and academic opportunities are phenomenal and they support students participating in extracurriculars - there truly is something for every type of student. Most importantly, they also care about students personally, and want to help students find the right balance between all the different pressures they face. Also there are plenty of opportunities, if interested, for parents who want to be involved in supporting the school and their teen's experience. My kids have had a top notch experience and received a phenomenal education!
