My experience with this high school was overall fairly good, I had good teachers that cared about me and my education, most of my teachers were always willing to help me whenever I needed it. However, I would have appreciated more diversity and acceptance in my school. I found that the majority of the students were white and any minorities were often discriminated against. It was also hard being apart of the LGBT+ community in this school as the LGBT+ club often had to fight against the school district in order to not be shut down and often experienced discrimination and vandalizing from students.
East High School Offers a lot of AP and honors classes, which allows students to have a wide variety of rigorous classes to chose from. This helps push the students at East High School to challenge themselves, while learning skills for college and learning more about the world around them.
West Bend East High School is unique in the way that it is only 1 of the 2 high schools located within the building. With a cross-hall rivalry, sporting events and other activities are always fun and upbeat. East High offers a wide variety of academic and non-academic programs, which are geared toward college readiness. The teachers and other faculty are highly involved in their students education and success. Despite a single instance in 2014, my overall experience at this high school was very good.
