it is a school. it is ok. the administration sucks. i've had many really good teachers and many really really bad teachers hence the 3 stars
East High is just like any ordinary High school, but it's more special and fancy with the one and only High School Musical being filmed here! I've met and created many connections here with amazing people I now call my close friends and people I knew that I never had the courage to talk to before. The best part for me was luckily being able to make good connections with teachers and considering them as my close friend I could ask advise on as I'm transitioning into an adult. The only thing that was a bad experience for me was being under a lot of stress from some previous teachers. Some teachers need to make their teaching more engaging rather than something that will make a student not want to participate in an activity due to anxiety and shyness. Something participating into the subject of what class, making sure that the task is clear of what to do and help students make sure they understand. I think that is something I'd like to see change, for students to be engaged in education!
I've spent the last 4 years at East High School and it's been quite the whirl wind. IN my time at East I experienced some unique circumstances. I spent my freshman and part of my sophomore year learning virtually. But once I was in person I learned to love East. It for sure has its strengths and weaknesses but its very different from other schools near me. ItItss far more diverse than other schools near by and offer more of a real world experience. The school didn't have the most support when it came to college and I had to look for resources elsewhere but I was able to work past that. Overall I love East and value all the experiences Ive had here.
I moved to East High School from a school in Louisiana for my Junior year. This school had a very different culture than my last, not as strict and more free flowing. That being said, it's harder to make students go to class and make good grades. Although with this temptation I continued to go to class and make amazing grades. The teachers here know how to connect to students and tell them about resources available.
Came in around my last year of high school. This school was one I was supposed to be in all my four years but, I moved and found my way back to it. My reason for my change of high school was that I wasn't receiving the help I needed to graduate like I am was/receiving in East. They helped me with everything needed to pass and even graduate early. They had so many different ways of receiving help and I was able to feel confident and succeed at the end.
Something I like about East is the cultural diversity and the programs they have to support every type of students no matter the race, sexuality, religion, gender, etc.
I really love East high school because it has gave me a place to grow and filled my life up with opportunities. At East they provide CTE classes and buses to another school at times for students to study extra cuticular. This helps us as students get a little insight of how the life of a profession may be.
East High School is overall a good school. I have participated in many extracurricular activities and I’ve made so many connections to students and teachers. The also have many resources for students and they are welcoming! There have been some problems, however students, teachers and staff are working to make it a better place. I love my classes and my teachers. I love how they challenge us and expect the best from us students because we are!
The academics were good when it came to concurrent and ap classes but couldn’t necessarily say the same for all other courses. Student body was diverse but obvious separation and cliques within them. Various opportunities to be involved. Very sport orientated school.
I would like to see the exculsion change. The school doesn't do a good job of informing the freshmen of the opportunties offered at the school. Even then I found out of certain things a bit later, when it would've been beneficial to know beforehand.
I feel like East has done an amazing job of handling the pandemic situation and integrating online learning until we were allowed to come in-person.
Overall, East is just your average high school and I haven't really been impressed with a lot of things they do. I feel like the education we receive isn't the best quality education like you're promised (with the exception of some classes like piano and financial literacy). Most of it has to do with the statewide curriculum and limited resources given out to teachers, while another big part of it is that some teachers just don't seem as qualified to teach or just don't seem to care about their students learning anything or succeeding - whether in the class, on college tests, or in life in general. Many of the teachers I've worked with are very kind and accommodating to certain issues (I have an IEP), while most others are very rude and judgmental at times. The counselors and vice principals are wonderful to work with and care about you.

I am a new senior at East and I am enjoying it! The teachers are good and make sure we understand the subjects. I am a golfer and swimmer and find the athletics are okay.
My experience was good. Overall I would recommend to everyone. The school has a somewhat good environment and really good teaching.
A very diverse and exciting school. A great place to meet people of all racial backgrounds, religions, interests, places of origin, and just a great place to meet friends for the rest of your life.
East high school is different from other schools in the state because the boundaries are so diverse. Playing both basketball and lacrosse helped me meet kids from different backgrounds, and understand their cultures better. Everything from team dinners to who picked us up from practice depended on culture. The social demographic makes it hard for the different races to get to know each other since there are stereotypes about what you look like and where you live. East is home to some of the richest and poorest kids in the state. For this reason it isn’t the best school if you don’t integrate through sports. Being the “High School Musical” school is fun because people are always excited when you tell them where you go to school. We get quite a few tourists every week, but they usually aren’t distracting. East is a great place to learn about the world around you with the free food and clothes boutique. The community comes together and donates whatever they can.
I am currently going into my senior year at East High School. My freshman year I had a few awkward experiences with some of the students, most of them happened during seminary, which I stopped attending after my freshman year. The students in seminary were very inappropriate towards me. My sophomore, and Junior year I got involved with the school. I was on the school dance team and involved with student government. It helped me with fitting in and making friends. My experience at East has definitely been about growth. I've been challenged in many ways specially when I created the Black Student Union and the conversation that it created. Addressing a schools racism and bias is not easy. Overall I have had an amazing experience. Although some of my worst experiences where I felt the most pain are traced back to East High, it is an amazing school and that's because of the teachers and staff.
East High has some really great teachers that were super helpful to me. Most of them truly want you to succeed and will willingly support you to achieve what it is you wish to do. This school is very diverse making it a fun environment to get to know people from plenty different backgrounds. Though, one thing I think can be changed at East High is the segregation of different groups. I think trying to get students to step out of their comfort zones and get to know people that are different from themselves would be beneficial in making the school feel even more united. I learned plenty of tips when it comes to college readiness, such as how to study, take proper notes, and manage a large work load. Although I rarely participated in clubs and activities, I had plenty of friends that enjoyed them. Overall, East High provided me with good friends and a good education.
