Overall, my experience at East has been one of the best things that has happened to me. I have met wonderful friends and many opportunities have come my way since moving here. I’d like to see more diversity, but being in Wyoming, I’ll take what I can get! The art program is amazing, having the biggest art department in Wyoming with a stunning 5 art teachers. The school itself is great for sports, complete with a new pool, amazing football field, and a huge gym. The school also offers our amazing speech and debate team, a great choir program, and the best band! Overall, East has been a great school.
As a student at east high school, I have been very involved with our community. Starting with cheerleading all the way to being the school vice president. Although majority of the East community is positive and outgoing there are always a few bad seeds. Including teachers who talk bad about students and teachers who allow homecoming voting and presidential voting to be cheated in order to resolve the issue of an important parent being upset. The good parts about east includes the teachers as well. From the activities they plan so students can have fun to the connections they make with students. For example, my yearbook teacher made such a connection, after the four years of having classes with him he taught me to be a better person and showed me what a true father act like. And for that I will always appreciate him. I'm sure many other have similar experiences.
East High School as a whole is a very good school. The students, teachers, and staff have positive attitudes daily, are always encouraging one another and help to take care of the school as a whole. Every school has their ups and downs but east seems to have everything under control. East High School has some of the highest test scores in the state and some of the best sports programs and coaches. One thing that I would like to see change within the east high community and the Laramie County School district over all is how students in other programs are seen though out the school. There is a lot of recognition for those who are in sports but not a lot for those students in band, choir, orchestra, and other clubs like ffa, fccla, fbla, DECA, and so many more. But overall, I would be bold enough to say that East High School is the best in the state, and anyone would be lucky to be a part of it.
