This school has so much potential, the overall downside is it's funding. The atmosphere and being number one in the nation in diversity has it's perks. But no funding in sport support and extracurricular. It would totally boost the student moral in this high school!

East is a fantastic school with great diversity. The teachers are all nice and are amazing role models. Graduating this year I'll miss them. My friends from here are from all cultures and we bring new adventures and viewpoints to each others lives. It's really beautiful to see everyone coming together.
Sometimes there are fights and disagreements between us, but we always make at the end. All the students love the teachers and the school. We're proud to say we've gone to East and we're not ashamed to say it's the best school.
We are a community, no matter the grade or age difference between us and the teachers. We are a family.
I moved to Alaska as a junior in high school which was definitely a hard transition. At East high school, I was able to find friends quickly due to the diversity. The community at East is unique whereas elsewhere it would be much more difficult to adjust to my surroundings. One thing I wish were different would be the ability for students to be able to carry their backpacks throughout the school day because it is difficult having classes across the school from your locker where your backpack resides.
