This school system has been wonderful for my boys. The teachers are great and relate to the kids well. Coming from Williamson County schools I can say in almost every way I prefer East Hickman. Especially the high school! They don't have a gifted program which was the only drawback moving here. The kids are diverse and all seem to get along well. The football coaching staff is EXCELLENT!
There isn't very many nice things I can say about East Hickman High School. The majority of the teachers I have had are mediocre at best. The only teachers I have that have made me "college ready" are my honors algebra two teacher and my a.p. literature teacher. The rest of the teachers usually rely on websites like khan academy and delta math to teach their students. Then the English teachers only lightly touch on subjects before moving on leaving the students with a disadvantage of not fully understanding the material.
I absolutely love my high school. East Hickman high is a great place to go to learn and grow, make friends, and explore new opportunities. The teachers for the most part are caring and will help you with fully understanding your work or even to help you personally. It’s a smaller school which means we are all pretty close together and everyone knows everyone. To say that I am going to miss East Hickman is an understatement.
