My high school experience has been very eventful. It went by so fast! High school was not really difficult for me because I had great teachers who provided me with a great support system. The environment of my school is very diverse and makes me feel very comfortable. My school offers a lot of opportunities to help us prepare for college like AP Classes & many meetings to help us stay on track. We have many sports and clubs suitable for many students and different types of people.
During my tenure being at East Hartford High School. I felt as though the school thrusts you into secondary education without any real vision for the students. Once I got into my senior year, I had to make split decisions on "what college do you want to go to" or "apply to my dream college" when in reality, you're supposed to beginning this process as a Junior. with that in hindsight, the Diversity at this school is great, teachers do a good job on educating students, and there are resources that students can use to get ahead in classes. The food is free so it's not good and coming from a former student-athlete, athletics can do a overall better job at coaching. The school does have a culture but is sub-par compared to other surrendering high schools. Overall, an average High school that can do so much better than its currently doing. The teachers are the real MVPs.
East Hartford High School has a lot to offer academically and socially. It has a diverse student population with involvement in many different clubs, sports, and activities. There are many AP classes to take (all free) and a wide selection of honors, lvl1, and lvl2 classes. Although it is notorious for having students that act out, minimal funding, and bad resources like computers, the teachers are great and the amount of opportunities you can grab from this school are amazing.
