East Hartford High School Reviews
Rating 3.63 out of 5 332 reviews
My freshman and sophomore year at East Hartford High School were exceptional. I had excellent teachers that helped shape me into the person I am today. Through no fault of their own, I felt as if the school gave up on its students during the pandemic. The pandemic was a difficult time for everyone, but I feel more effort could have been put in for the students. Not having a prom or proper graduation was difficult; feeling like I missed out on a true high school experience. Due to the Covid regulations, I understand it was difficult to facilitate these things, but other courses of action could have been made or taken in place of them.
It is a very diverse, welcoming school. The faculty, principal, assistant principals, guidance counselors, etc. want to see you succeed. Faculty and even the administrators will push you as hard as they can to see you strive through your four years of high school. With words of encouragement, extra help with work, fun activities that keep you engaged, EHHS is a school that cares. They care about your education, your safety, and your well being. They prepare you for the real word, for college, post-secondary plans; whatever is right for you! EHHS has any thing that is for you and if they don't, you have the opportunity to make something for you. This school has three core values and that is to Be Safe, Be Respectful, and to Be Honest. EHHS focuses on keeping students and parents happy. My high school was always fun, I cannot say I left high school without learning a thing. EHHS felt like family and it shaped me to be who I am today.
I liked the fact that our school was very diverse. There were so many students with different backgrounds and stories which made my experience with friends so fun and inclusive. One thing that I would probably change is the workload for honors or AP students over breaks/vacations. I understand that we're expected to be able to handle more than general classes, but everyone deserves a break now and then.
