East Hamilton, being a new school, is very competitive in the aspect that it's aspiring to be like the other schools in the county. It has many different clubs that are all relatively inclusive, a variety of classes, and many people are involved in something. The teachers, the behavior, and the periodic restrictions are what cause it to lose some stars. Many teachers don't feel the need to teach, or don't adequately know how, while the students don't feel the need to attend class and decide to do drugs or smoke. The new dress code this year is a big controversy, but it's in proportion to the overall status of our students.

East Hamilton High School was built in 2009 when I was 3rd grade. When my mom would drive pass the school I would always say "I can't wait to attend that school," and it's true. I've been at East Hamilton since 6th grade, and it's been such a great-learning experience. Our slogan is committed to excellence, and our environment definitely lives to that saying. It's such a open and safe environment to learn in. Our diversity as a school shows how accepting we are to ALL individuals. Our teachers provide us with important learning skills along with life lessons mixed in-between. Our administration, guidance counselors, and office team makes sure that our needs are taken care of throughout the school year. The student body makes that EVERYBODY's voice is heard, and to make sure we have good last year in high school. It's bittersweet that it's my last year, but I wouldn't want to finish it anywhere else.
I found East Hamilton a great public school to attend. I have created lifelong friends and experienced very great memories. Though the school does have some things that I believe they should improve on, East Hamilton was overall good school. There are a couple of things I would try to change or improve on. Such as lunch, academics, teacher involvement, and over school policies. East Hamilton is by no means perfect but I have experienced challenges that have improved my overall academics and personal growth.
