As a current high school junior, college is coming up quickly, and I feel extremely fortunate to be a student at East Greenwich High School. EGHS has a rigorous academic program that encourages being up to a challenge, and puts an emphasis on being ready for college. According to my friends who've graduated, college is much easier for them because they received a great education here.
Most of the teachers care about their students, and there are a ton of after-school activities available for students. Our sports teams often rank highly in state competitions, as well. Food and facilities are pretty average. My school is weak in terms of diversity, as the student body is around 90% white, and has been weak in school spirit, but some of the incoming classes are trying to change that! I'm proud to be a student at EGHS, and feel confident about my future because of my experiences here.

The teachers at EGHS for me have stood out as ones that truly care about your learning experience. Most teachers offer time outside the classroom for students to come in and receive more personal help on topics. Despite the few teachers that are reguarded as “unlearnable” thoughout the student body, the teachers and students have a good connection. Although we have a police officer at the school at all times, I still feel if someone did plan out an attack it would be easy. School spirit is evident for about the first semester of the year, by once football season ends and Airband passes students lose interest. Parent involvement is high at this school, almost too high. There’s points where students are having parents try to solve problems that they themselves should be working out. Overall I have loved my time at EGHS and I’m looking forward to this last year at the school, it will certainly be a sad goodbye leaving the school and the town for college.
East Greenwich High School provides you with a ton of opportunities (my finance teacher helped me get an internship and almost a prom date for instance). The culture is good, the teachers and administration do a good job of keeping everything calm. The sports teams are great and have a great culture. Whether winning or losing, the coaches run a tight ship and keep a good sense of camaraderie. The clubs are run as well as the sports, and almost always have a teacher acting as an advisor. The teachers are excellent, there are a few teachers that are hard, but they do a great job preparing you for college. For instance, my AP calculus class covered more information than my first college calculus class. The facilities are kept current and clean, and the food is typical high school cafeteria food. Overall, EG High provides you with as many opportunities as you want, you can coast through or overachieve, it's up to the student.
