East Greenwich High School is a nice public high school that offers an education and resources that reflect the wealth of the town. Because of this, many students go on to further their education at prestigious universities and colleges. While the staff does an excellent job of ensuring students are ready for college, they sometimes forget that college isn’t what all students see in their vision of their future. Although this isn’t a major issue, it’s definitely something that could be improved. The school culture can be very competitive, which is necessary for advancement and success, but can create an atmosphere of stress and anxiety too. If the school were to improve access to the school psychologist and increase social-emotional learning in the classroom, this would likely change. Overall, I’ve enjoyed my experience at this high school and believe it’s a nice place filled with good people, even though there can always be improvements.

As a current high school junior, college is coming up quickly, and I feel extremely fortunate to be a student at East Greenwich High School. EGHS has a rigorous academic program that encourages being up to a challenge, and puts an emphasis on being ready for college. According to my friends who've graduated, college is much easier for them because they received a great education here.
Most of the teachers care about their students, and there are a ton of after-school activities available for students. Our sports teams often rank highly in state competitions, as well. Food and facilities are pretty average. My school is weak in terms of diversity, as the student body is around 90% white, and has been weak in school spirit, but some of the incoming classes are trying to change that! I'm proud to be a student at EGHS, and feel confident about my future because of my experiences here.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this school over the last four years. Our teachers have made it their mission to help us learn and be the best student we can be and have provided us with so many resources to do so. At the beginning of our time at the high school, we have a freshman meeting. Here is where we outline a plan of how to not only pass high school but do it in a way that is tailored to any needs that we have. At the end of our junior year, we have a similar meeting, reflecting on our last three years as well as talk about our post high school plans. The last major meeting we have is the senior meeting. As a class we gather together to talks about the steps necessary and requirements to apply to college, voicing that there are other options. As illustrated, our administration works unbelievable hard to see us succeed. Overall, East Greenwich High School has been an environment that has allowed me to become my best self both on a citizenship and academic level.
