East Central has a variety of classes for people of different interests to learn and choose from, from animating, to welding, even forensic sciences! There are also many learning opportunities and trips students can take to learn more about careers to pursue in the future. Some classes lack teachers who seem passionate about their teachings but those who are, are the greatest teachers you could meet, especially the AP and Colloquium.
East Central High school has provided not only me but all their students opportunities to discover and chase their dream careers. The teachers and faculties are very helpful and understanding towards their students and ensure growth. I've made many wonderful memories and have accomplished great things with the help of my peers and teachers. What I would personally like to see change is the way the administration handles certain conflicts such as bullying, under performance in class, and disrespectful students. With these improvements, the environment can be even more welcoming for incoming students!
When i attended East Central, I was grated the opportunity to be involved in numerous programs and extracurricular activities. I was involved in Varsity Choir, Varsity Theater, Colloquium and the National Honor Society. COVID unfortunately took much of a crucial part of my high school years but the teachers and faculty at East Central made sure to accommodate and provide safety measures for the students to feel comfortable with the uncomfortable circumstances regarding the pandemic. The atmosphere was comforting and despite the students not always being kind, I enjoyed high school quite a lot and I feel it really shaped who I try to be as a college student, working and leading my peers to better themselves during their collegiate experience and offer a guiding light to them. Thanks to my high school teachers, friends and opportunities I've been able to become better than I thought I could.
