I graduated East Central Highschool on June 6th 2015. Those four years had to be some of the most magnificent years of my life!
I grew so much as an individual, and learned lessons that I actually still use to this day!
Although my senior year was possibly one of the most stressful years with college and trying to be an adult yet trying to enjoy the last few months of Highschool.
Most of my teachers were amazing, especially Ms. Serrano, one of the best AP English teachers I have ever had.
In conclusion, I had the time of my life at EC. Met people I am still very close to this day, memories I will never forget and lessons that will follow me always!
I do like my school! It is a great campus filled with an even greater staff that is determined to help us graduate and move us onto bigger and better things.
If I would want to see a change, it would be to provide more Dual credit classes and AP classes. That way, high schoolers are able to graduate with more college credits. Although I am graduating this year with college credits form both AP and Dual Credit courses, I would like to have been provided with more classes with teachers who are equipped to teach the rigorous classes.
Texas is known for it's sub-par schools, and I wouldn't say that East Central dispels any such beliefs by being the most excellent or anything, but if as a student, in one takes advantage of the opportunities available to you, one can really gain a good education. If you don't, one's education will be summed up to minimal standards. The teachers in the advanced courses are wonderful and really seek to help students to improve as much as they can. This campus holds a huge range of clubs and activities to join. Football team doesn't do great, but still people prefer to go there than to the successful theatre performances. There isn't a lot of diversity or too little diversity, but it'd be better if more people strived for the more difficult courses. Food is edible, but not preferred. Safety is definitely higher than that of the Judson district. There is a school police station right across the street.
