East Ascension High School was all about the pep rallies and sports but the academic standpoint was not that great. They did not prepare you for college like they said they were. The holiday lunches were probably the best lunches. I was never one to eat school lunches, but that was one lunch that I never missed! The teachers were all very friendly; the students always had someone to talk to. We had one of the best rivals in south Louisiana, EA vs STA. We would roll their houses and they would rolls ours. No vandalism. At the end of the week, the football game is where it all ends. East Ascension High school was an enthusiastic school and it was a great experience to have for the rest of my life!

East Ascension High School is outdated and many of the facilities are worn down and need replacement. There isn't enough classrooms for the teachers and the classrooms are often overcrowded. Student individualization is severely limited and many of the teachers are unprofessional. The honors and advanced placement programs promote college readiness, but they're unrealistically expensive. The administration rarely engages the students unless it's for punishment and don't respond well to parental involvement. Many of the students that are enrolled to East Ascension are frequent drug or alcohol abusers. East Ascension's band is extremely expensive and requires ridiculous afterschool practices and summer camps (which you have to pay for).
East ascension is a school full of school spirit. All of the different classes support each other and support the different sports at EA. We also have some of the greatest events such a foam/ paint party and even a power puff. What makes EA the most special is how diverse the school is. Everybody is somebody at EA no matter the skin color or background. The teachers are caring and they prepare you not only for the present, but for your future. Career coaches are at EA that help guide us toward what our future will be. Even today I went to see the senior career coach who helped me get admission fee waivers for colleges and even helped me apply me to a few colleges. Without her I wouldn’t have even known about applying for this scholarship! Excellence Always (EA) will forever be the motto of such a great school!
