Teachers are very professional & are very inspiring to me to continue with the program after trying to drop out many times through my 3 years. They keep me going every day to work and push harder. They never gave up on me and always believed me even when I was at my lowest. They try their best to engage with the students and with having dual credit is very blessed for my area to have an associates degree and a high school diploma at the age of 18. The campus is beautiful and small which I very much like and they provide a lot of food around the campus and lots of supportive resources for students. There is bunches of diversity coming from United States all the way to Nigeria and El Salvador! We love each students very much and all get along.
My overall experience with Early College High School at Midland College is academically challenging and it good averagely. However, there are a lot of help and support from staff and faculty. They are always willing to help and work through with student. I survived throughout my high school year thanks to amazing teacher who are willing to help me. Although it is academically challenging, I learn a lot from it especially from my high school classes. Aditionally, we have a lot of club and activities. For example, my favorite one is the Spanish Club. It is like a cultural appreciation. It is like a highlight of my teenage years because I spend over 4 years and I have a lot of ups and downs experiences. In my opinion, it is a great school for academic but not for sport because we don't have any sports. However, the great thing is that we get to have our Associate degree the same time we got our high school diploma. We are already a full-time college student while we are in high school.
My experience at Early College High School at Midland College was amazing and was definitely worth it. Yes, there were some difficulties throughout the four years I attended however all the challenges I overcame helped me become the person I am today. I will always be grateful for this program, it challenged me and allowed me to come out of my comfort zone and become more involved. However, this school is not made for slacking. Students must stay on top of their studies for both High School and college. It is important that students don't lose opportunities due to procrastination. Thankfully Early College has an amazing support system Teachers, staff, and administration, all prepare us for all obstacles. One change I would consider is allowing students to enroll after their freshman year. I and many students can admit that freshman year was difficult and it is only fair if all students began freshman year.
