Attending Early College was one of the best decisions I have ever made concerning my education. Because it was so small, it was easier to get one on one help with teachers. Everyone knew each other, and there was a pretty friendly atmosphere. Early College offered us a once in a lifetime opportunity to complete an associates degree in college whilst still attending high school! It was a wonderful experience. The only downside is that because of how tiny the school is, we often did not receive the same recognition or respect from other high schools, official, people, etc. We didn't have sports either, however we were allowed to partner with a handful of high schools; they were kind enough to allow our students to join their sports teams.
I enrolled into ECAC when I was a sophomore in high school. I was shy and nervous of making new friends but everyone, including the principal, made me feel welcomed. By the time I entered my senior year, i’d made friends with basically everyone there. The teachers also helped when me I needed it; even if I took a while for me to understand the material.
Even though it's a small school, that's alright because you get the attention that you need. The people there are great and some days are fun, especially when you get to go to CSU or Columbus Tech. I just think it should be shared and advertised more because it's a great opportunity and a good idea to take college classes while in high school.
