It’s alright, and other than South or maybe Diamond it’s the best in the Anchorage School District. Most of the people there are religious nuts and the rest are usually druggies. The teachers are nice but pretty average. If you can afford South I’d move there but it’s a good little school. A lot of the funds are given to an excess amount of administrative staff so the classrooms and teachers are severely underfunded and a lot of stuff is broken but that’s pretty typical. The cafeteria food is probably pretty normal but still really bad. And good luck finding any parking! It’s a madhouse and if you ride the busses they leave a good seven minutes before they’re supposed to.

I love the teachers! For the most part, they care about their students and work hard to make sure we have the skills and information we need to succeed, both in high school and life. A majority of them spend extra time before school, after school, and during their breaks answering questions, going over material, and just taking the time to get to know us as people. However, there were slight issues. Due to budget cuts, Eagle River no longer has certain arts programs and other programs are paid for by teachers. It also lacks school spirit, but we aren't very good at sports so it makes sense. Overall, it is a friendly, academic, and enjoyable school
I really love Eagle River High School, the staff are all very encouraging and their highest priority is the safety and quality of education for their students. Academic integrity is one of the attributes Eagle River High School is well-known for in Alaska. One thing I would change about Eagle River High, however, would be the sports side of the school was better-taken care of. For example, installing a pool. Our swim and dive teams have to travel to Bartlett every weekday for practice immediately after school. It would also be ideal if we had an auditorium for groups such as choir, orchestra, and drama, as they currently either have to travel to Chugiak High School to use the Steve Premis Auditorium, or use the cafeteria..
