At Eagle Point high school, I have had a very up and down experience. I’m either in the classroom actively learning, or I’m staring at a teacher who doesn’t know what to teach us and gives up because the majority of students at EPHS are disrespectful and have zero aspect of accountability. The teacher only starts to teach if an admin wanders through the door, but I would hope it’s still obvious they still have no control of the classroom. I don’t think it’s right for half of the student body to get a fantastic teacher and the other half three lessons behind and sitting on there phones during this 45 minute break they call a class.

As a freshman I do not have very much experience with the high school. But walking through the doors on my first day of freshmen year I expected to be challenged academically and I was not, and I am still not being challenged almost a semester through the year. I see myself finishing assignments at the beginning of classes when my other classmates need the whole period. The teachers are unable to teach, my science teacher is not prepared for class on most days. She merely just paces around the room and gives us assignments that she hasn’t taught yet. I have definitely thought about transferring but the extra curriculars that I am involved in keep me at eagle point. The high school definitely needs improvements especially compared to its lower level schools, I have been in the eagle point school district for ten years and I have had little to no complaints. I’m hoping that the next semester or even mexr school year can be improved.
I enjoyed attending this school due to the strong bonds I formed with those I interacted with during clubs and activities. The teachers tried their hardest with a school culture and administration that refused to listen. I would appreciate a change in how the students viewed themselves, along with the administration getting off their high horse and actually paying attention to those who need help and deserve it.
