Eagle Academy is a school based on brotherhood that brings a great deal of confidence in each and every student. This school doesn't purely focus on developing young men to do well academically, but it focuses on the character development of each and every student. Many students like myself have changed a lot since the first day of attending Eagle Academy in the sixth grade. This school is also partnered with Streetsquash Newark which is an urban squash program. This program brought a unique sport into both my life and Eagle Academy. Eagle Academy has helped me grow in confidence to speak out in public and even develop a strong passion for the sport I love, squash.

Being at Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark I learned how to be confident and resilient also Eagle Academy gave me the tools to be a young successful men when I get into real world by teaching me how to be properly dressed, code switching and always be open to new opportunities. The school culture at Eagle Academy is excellent, we have different traditions that we have to follow like libations when we pay respect to our love ones, house where learn about our house leader ( Malcom X, Roberto Clemente, Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali) we also have our annual moving up ceremony where we come together as a school and celebrate new beginnings for the school year by rewarding every kid in each grade with their specific tie. Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark keeps the young men in my city grounded and show them what it takes to be adult in the world by giving us multiple opportunities to expand our knowledge and choices in life.
One thing I like most about the school is their care for the students' futures, ie: their preparation for tertiary institutions and their personalities.
