I have had a wonderful experience so far at Daniel High School. The teachers and staff are amazing and totally willing to go out of their way to help in any way possible. I always feel like I can ask for help. Most of the students are great and will help each other out in any way they can too. We have a very diverse group of students which has really helped shape our student body. There are plenty of electives, sports, and clubs to partake in and there is something for everyone. Many of them do very well. Students and teachers often come out to support each other and it’s just a great experience overall. During this time of pandemic and tornados we are not meeting in our physical building, but it’s been so nice to see everyone come together and check on each other. Students and teachers are constantly reaching to make sure everyone is okay. It feels great to know so many people care about you. I have enjoyed my time at Daniel and can’t wait to see what next year has in store.

I am currently in my senior year at Daniel. My experience at Daniel has been overall amazing. The teachers are not just focused on teaching the content but also preparing us for college and the real world. A small group of the teachers at Daniel are so great and that they have become something of local celebrities. I have been in the Band program for the entirety of my High School career. I enjoyed expanding my knowledge and love of music and also winning competitions. At Daniel we have a tradition of excellence. We are by far the most academically proficient, athletic, and the most proud high school in the upstate of SC.
It was academically challenging in nearly every subject. The staff and faculty cared about the students success and wellbeing on an individual basis. Every student I knew had a teacher or staff member that if they felt they needed could turn to for guidance. The school itself is clean and well suited to it's population of students. If a student wants a place to grow and be challenged by talented youth DWD is a wonderful school. The biggest problem I faced arose from my peers in that participated in illegal activities on and off campus--it was mostly underage vaping. I think this activity could be part of being an independent teenager and not easily solved by supervisors.
