It’s a really good school! There are times where I dislike it, but that happens at all schools. The faculty and Staff truly care about students’ emotional and mental health, and want to see students succeed.

The school itself is pretty good. There is a good choice of courses with varying levels of difficulty and rigor, so there's surely something that can be challenging for anyone.

Provided you do your best to pay attention to what's going on in class, it's pretty easy to pass. Teachers are often disrespected by students in a variety of ways, so taking the time to be respectful can help you out greatly. Forming a solid relationship with them will help you to be a more successful student in the long run.

On the off side, the school has a large list of rules that are often annoying to deal with, and some which are outright ridiculous. Admins and teachers are very strict about the uniforms. Another is the cell phone policy. If an admin or teacher catches even a glimpse of your phone, regardless of whether it's in use, they have the right to take it and keep it. The only way to get it back is to have a parent pick it up at the end of the day (talk about a headache for student drivers).
Duval Charter School is a great school. They different programs to help students. The classrooms are small which makes it easy for teacher and students to interact. The only thing that could probably be changed is some of the teachers attitude towards students. All the teachers are amazing but from time to time very hurtful things can be said. Overall, the school is very good.
