I've had a very brief time at Dutchtown High School and I can honestly come to say that my experience was worth while. The students are friendly and approachable, the teachers takes care of their students, and academics are something that is valued at this school. The faculty believes in having a safe environment provided for the students so that they are able to excel in their own creative ways. There are some ups and downs with some teachers but they do not determine the entire staff. All in all I'm proud to be a Griffin!
I enjoyed my time at Dutchtown high School. I learned a lot, especially in science and history. I feel that the school does a good job of promoting their academics and not just focusing on athletics like many other schools do. Faculty at Dutchtown high School was very helpful and welcoming for the most part. The administration at Dutchtown high School does a great job of being aware of what the students are up to at all times. Students were not able to "sneak" around and do anything they should not do without being caught when I attended the school. Additionally, the facilities are nice at Dutchtown. Dutchtown High School has nice bathrooms, a spacious cafeteria, lots of room to eat lunch outside, and nice gymnasiums. The outdoor st adium for football and soccer is also well taken care of, although many surrounding schools have began to use turf on their fields where as Dutchtown high school has not begun to do that yet and still uses regular grass on their field. However, its nice.
Dutchtown is the largest school in Louisiana programs to fit any type of interest so everyone is included in something. The school spirit is positive and the educational programs are top notch. I have found that my focus on my future career has increased since joining the school. I am already taking college courses and feel like I am more prepared to college to be successful. I would recommend Dutchtown as a private school to attend over any private school in the area.
Not only is the school preparing the students for college but the school offers a technical track for those not wanting to go to college. The track offers technical trade training and upon graduation you are ready to enter the trade workforce with a minimum of two certifications. Offerings include allied health programs, welding, culinary, and various other trade skills. I am proud of our school system for offering options and not pushing the same cookie cutter offering to all students.
