VERY great school. Your kids will love it here! Dress code is formal no Athletic wear ( P. E. Only). Very good teachers. The teachers do offer touting here from 8:15am-9:10am if needed. That's great to get Homework done and to also help you get prepared for class. What I love about Durham is that they now offer High school credit for all 8th grade students that qualify.

I went to middle school here, there weren't too many fights and i often felt safe at school. However, i thought the teachers could've been more helpful when going into high school and the food definitely needed to be better.
In comparison to the school district I had just left, Durham is a fine middle school, but my 8th grade year the 6th and 7th graders had to have whole class lectures about not erasing themselves in "eraser challenges." The school also did not offer part of the 9th grade math course (top level) and did not offer to assist the students who were impacted going forwards in getting the high schools to put them into advanced classes. I ended up having to go into a magnet program geared towards math and science to have that fixed.
