Durant High School is truly one of my favorite places in the world, there is a big sense of community there. It's a small school so you will have more attention from teachers, there is a great campus, with a football field, basketball court, a huge gym, and a beautiful auditorium. There are a huge number of after school activities, clubs, and they have all of the different honor societies. Durant high school taught me so much and it really did help make me who I am today!
I have attended Durant High School for the past 4 years. I am now a senior. YEAH! I have enjoyed playing multiple sports. The teachers are wonderful and very helpful. All of the classes that I needed to graduate were readily available. There are a few things that are not impressive to me. The one thing I do not care for is the food in the cafeteria. There is not an ample amount given to the students. When asked for more food their response is no. The other thing that irritates me is the bathrooms are locked when the bell rings. All students are to be in class when bell rings and not hanging out in the hall. Durant has thousands of students that have to compete for use of the bathrooms. It is just irritating. I have gained the trust of many of the teachers and am allowed to use certain bathrooms others aren't. I have enjoyed my years at Durant and would recommend this high school to others. The students start out as acquaintances but leave as family and teachers become school parents.
I was so nervous before I entered high school since I moved to America to study right before I started my freshman year. But Durant teachers, staffs, friends, and the environment have helped me so much. I've grown, learned, and gained knowledge from Durant. I'm also really thankful for all the memories I have had at Durant. The teachers are always ready to help me to understand the lesson when I come to them for tutoring. There are so many clubs and activities that Durant has. Durant gives me the opportunity to be involved in the community and develops my communication, interaction, self- developing, problem- solving skills. The academics, culture, and facilities are all great! I will miss Durant so much! Durant is always in my heart and no matter where I go, I would never forget where I started growing up.
