High school is an experience that varys from person to person. My experience was good because of the High School’s amazing teaching staff. I did not do 5 starts, because nothing is perfect. Some kids made it difficult to be in a positive learning environment and some teachers did not act like they really wanted to be teaching or to be quite frank, cared. But like I said, overall my high school experience has been amazing! So many awesome opportunities here.

Teachers are generally fantastic. Administration is routinely criticized, but before the past couple of years, the prinicipal was phenomenal.

The available AP classes and college dual-enrollment courses (the school neighbors Penn State DuBois) are astonishing for a school in such a small town. Teachers really care about their jobs and often exceed expectations on intelligence and knowledge. Not all teachers are this way, but particularly AP-level teachers as well as certain Honors teachers (e.g. Honors Chemistry) are mostly great.
While attending DAHS I had the opportunity to challenge myself with a variety of different classes, meet new people, and set my future in the right place. There are a couple of things I would change about DAHS. I think all athletes should take a drug test, be more serious about bullying, and figure out a better way to pave the student parking lot in the winter. Some breeze through high school because they do nothing hard while others struggle and are at home doing homework for +3 hours. Some students are challenged and some are not and the teachers don't care how easy some students have it. They need to push the kids at this school and they aren't. They recently shut down some art classes which close the student's mind to be creative. The librarian is rude and yells at students for printing pages for college classes, but what if a student does not have a printer at home?
