Dublin Jerome High School has been a great experience for me! It is a very academically driven school that has definitely challenged me. They offer a myriad of different classes that can accommodate so many individual needs including their use of Emerald Campus, Tolles campus, AP classes, IB classes, honors classes, and CCP classes. Additionally, their athletics have been great for me personally. The culture and atmosphere here is also amazing.
Dublin City Schools is one of the best school districts in Central Ohio, and I am grateful to have gone here. There's tons of educational resources for students and lots of different course and extracurricular options, such as taking IB courses at Emerald Campus or being a part of one of the academy programs. One thing though is that a lot of the accomplishments boasted by the school is from student-driven work, and oftentimes, the administration can seem indifferent to supporting academic extracurriculars and competition-based clubs. The atmosphere can also become hyper-competitive, and it's not unlikely for toxicity to brew. However, I do acknowledge that I am privileged to have gone to this high school, and would not have been able to be where I am now without it.
Throughout my 4 years, I've noticed that the student body is growing exponentially but the amount of faculty is barely changing. There isn't even enough room in the parking lot, & many of my classes have entirely too many kids in them. I have had some really awful teachers, but I've had some good ones as well. Another thing is that Jerome is funded by rich parents. That means that a lot of the kids are spoiled, but the school itself is really nice. Jerome is HUGE, even compared to the other Dublin schools. They have flatscreen TVs in every room & each student gets their own laptop, & it feels like the whole school is brand new. That does come with some downsides, like it being difficult to get to your next class during the passing period because the school is so big, but it is overall a really nice school.
