DSST: College View High School is very involved in the college process of their students. From middle school they begin to teach you about college but once you’re in high school you get special classes dedicated to make college applications easier. They’re curriculum is also more challenging since they’re lettering system is: A, B, C, F. They skip the “D” all together. They also offer a lot of advanced classes to their students. As well as extra help after school, during school, before school, and in electives.
However, the school the school doesn’t have much diversity, although most of the students are minorities. They also focus a lot of the math, reading, writing, and science aspect. This isn’t necessarily a bad things but for students who enjoy the arts and sports it makes it more difficult to enjoy school.

Something that I like about DSST: College View High school is how our community is respectful to anyone no matter what you are or where you come from. It's small community but we make sure everyone is treated with respect and connect with people. All the teachers are kind and awesome to their students. They make sure no students is failing and getting help if they need it. Our teachers make sure every students gets the right education and the student here are kind, friendly, and always doing their best.
DSST: College View Highschool helped me prepare for college in a way that other school's don't prepare you. Teachers come right out of college and know the resources for most of the colleges students are interested in. From the start they teach you valuable skills to communicate with people and make a change in the world no matter what you look like or where you come from. This school stands for respect, courage, curiosity, responsibility, doing your best, and integrity. Their goal is to get 100% of their students admitted to a four year college whether they're thinking about it or not. DSST: College View gives students that come from a low-income community an opportunity to thrive, and gives them the opportunity to choose a higher education and not settle for less.
