Hello,
I am currently a Junior at Downtown Magnets High School, and I can not stress enough the prestige of this school. The school staff demonstrate a great interest in helping students achieve both their academic and personal goals. In the academic sphere, Downtown Magnets High School offers over 22 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. But if AP isn't the path your interested in, you may want to consider in joining the IB Program, of which is also offered on campus. One of the qualities that makes DMHS a unique School is it's clubs and after school activities. Students may participate in the most diverse and fun clubs, including Debate, Academic Decathlon, Dance, Art, and the Gay Straight Alliance. I would highly recommend this School as a first option for incoming 2017 freshman, and transfer students, because Downtown Magnets High School is a rich full center for college readiness, laughter, and forming lifelong bonds.
Review Downtown Magnets High School
It was a cool experience. A low income and diverse school! Food is meh, but what did you expect, it's LAUSD. Events and clubs are organized by the students most of the time, so definitely a school that promotes independence. Most of the students are college competitive so...be ready!
Hello, my name is Tiffany Chavez and I am a current freshmen student in Downtown Magnets Highschool. My experience there is great because they give you looks of opportunities and resources to help you improve academic and as a person. There are many clubs and classes that you can take be demonstrated your capacity. As freshmen, you can be in many clubs such as ASB which is the biggest club there is which includes creating dances and events. There are also math and debate clubs. There are many sports which are softball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, track and field, and cross-country. Our strongest overall sport, in my opinion, is cross-country and tennis. Dmhs Includes lots of magnets which I am proud to say that I will be in the Business Administration and finance academy. I would like for a bigger campus because we have a small campus and no space to do P.E. Not only that we need newer books and better structure, but academically we are great.
