I am entering my senior year at dover high and I love it! Sure, it has a bad reputation but when you take the time to really meet your peers you realize that it's and old stereotype that stems from how the previous dover high and how it was in a low income area. Your highschool experience is what you make it, I chose my friends wisely and have stayed out of trouble thus far. If your a student who struggles with hanging around a good crowd, join a sports team or club, they give you goals that keep you on the right track!
My experience with Dover High School has been an experience. Overall the education and diversity are the best parts regarding the school. I come from a city in New Jersey that lacks cultural diversity so seeing so many different cultures and people is a great experience. The worst part of this school would be the lack of organization, which would be the more only thing lacking. More organization throughout the school would make it so much better and instill better experiences for students and teachers.
The administration in this school is unorganized and unhelpful to students. However, the community in this school is unmatched. Dover high school is a great place to communicate with experienced peers about future career paths. The communities found in standard clubs here are excellent, but most notably programs like JFROTC, band, choir, theater, and our sports are great. Our teachers who have been in this district for a number of years are excellent, but the new teachers and administrators are never good in my experience. Our band has the most history and culture in our school, and I'd argue the most out of every school in the state.
