Dougherty Valley High School offers a great education to its students, as well as many opportunities. DVHS has a variety of clubs and sports programs, it is very easy to find your niche and whatever suits your interests. I had a very memorable experience at Dougherty Valley and enjoyed my time as a student there. There are good amenities and resources that can help you be successful and the classrooms are well equipped. There are also many on-campus events, from college fairs to dance shows, and sometimes they even bring shelter dogs to aid with student stress during finals week!

The academic rigor and pressure put on students is very high so naturally it's a super stressful environment. Highly competitive and if I could switch high schools I would because it does no justice on teen mental health. Great academics though. It's super diverse, if anything white people are the minority. It's just kind of our school in the district that's like this. Go to Cal High if you want to be happy. parents do add to the student pressure, theres an eighth grader in my algebra 2 class. Bs are definitely frowned upon. there's always someone in the bathroom crying over an A- on a quiz. Other than that, great!
Dougherty Valley High is a great school. I started my first two years off at California High school, and finished my last two at DVHS. Going in a loved the school right off the bat, I had made friends and connected with the staff so much quicker than I ever had at Cal High! Growing up in San Ramon, it is a very competitive city for academics, as much more difficult as it makes classes I always enjoy challenging myself. Overall, DVHS shaped me and help me grow into the man I am today.
