Dougherty Comprehensive High School is an very good school. Not only that, they have a lot of school pride and support everyone in their extra curricular activities. The administrative staff is on point with the rules and regulations and cares about everyone’s safety. The administrators are very considerate about letting the students of the school voice their opinions and concerns as young adults. I like the fact that they give us a chance to be heard. They teachers are also very supportive and caring. They truly care about the seniors futures as we get prepared to leave the school. They are always checking up on us and reminding us to get our selves in order for college and helping us stay on track with graduation.
Review Dougherty Comprehensive High School
The students are very ill-mannered. A lot of them have behavioral issues and do not come to class prepared to learn. The redeeming qualities of the school are its performing arts program and JROTC. The teachers want to teach but often the students will not listen. If you are going to send your child to Dougherty High then make sure they are put into Honors classes. Honors classes are usually smaller and stricter, as a result, your child will have a better chance at learning.
The school experience at this school was overall great to me despite some of the teachers. I have had some teachers that weren't the best, but I have had teachers that put their all into helping me succeed. My favorite experience was being in fourth period my senior year of high school. I had a teacher who was full of life, and I always experienced something new in her class. Also the school events were my favorite experiences from the drama productions to the basketball games. The school is unique because it's a school of the arts, and it's always a good show that is put on.
