This school is equipped with everything you could ever need for your four years of high school. You'll probably never even get a chance to do everything on campus! From wood shop to pottery to musical theater to the prestigious engineering academy, there is something for each type of student to submerge themselves in. The school takes pride in celebrating students' diverse backgrounds through a number of events held throughout the year. The football team is absolutely incredible and games on Friday nights are extremely fun. Everyone, including parents and staff, comes out to enjoy the marching band and the cheerleaders, and the football players of course. Most of the teachers I've interacted with have been kind, welcoming, and have great senses of humor, which is always nice to help maintain a relaxed classroom setting. Overall, the teachers and administration consist of great people who you can tell do what they do for more than just money.

I love this school! I moved here from Arizona and fell in love! I was suppose to attend Santa Barbara High School but I am so glad I choice this school instead. It has stellar academics, having many AP and IB options available, as well as career oriented classes such as Engineering, woodworking, and ceramics. The teachers are always so welcoming to every student and try their very best to help every student. The campus is what gives the school 4 stars instead of 5. It is a little outdated in some areas and needs a good deep clean, but it hardly an issue to the student body. The athletics are incredible, there are so many options and they are welcoming to newcomers all the time. I attended a public school in Arizona, but DP redefined the definition of Public schools for me and I am so grateful to have moved here! Go Chargers!
I appreciated that they started to have more resources for people who were struggling with grades, no matter the circumstance. I loved the counselors here because they really had confidence in their students for preparing for college. My English teachers were probably the best because of their passion for the subject and their confidence and effort they put into teaching us!
