This school is pretty tough with academics, and push you past your limit but maybe it goes a little too far with it.SUPER strict with their uniform policy!!!All black shoes, no skinny pants, no hoodies with a logo, etc.The people in this school are very different than the kids at the nearby schools, it's definitely a different environment.Be careful who you hang out with, and choose your friends wisely. The teachers are ok, and some love their students as if they were their own kids.Overall, it's an ok school but I'm not definitely high school as it won't be a right fit for me and applying to a Catholic school.
This charter academy (Temporary contract school managed by a private cuban owner) is located is a warehouse area of Doral. It accepts students from all parts of Miami so I had classmates from Opalocka and even Homestead.
The environment just does not feel like a real American school... it feels like students mean money for whoever owns this contract school. The owner gets $8,000 per every student from the district, so they will always want more students in these tiny classrooms. There were 51 students in my Algebra class, mostly recent arrivals from Venezuela. I heard Venezuelan parents like charter schools because Venezuelan public schools don't work so they flooded this school with their Venezuelan children. The owner is making tons of money from these immigrants. Cuban Americans and Americans enroll their children in traditional American schools (Public schools)
