Doral Academy is what you make of it. There are phenomenal life changing teachers and mentors but there also teachers that you don’t learn all that much from. However, with my experience I’ve been fortunate enough to have the majority of my teachers as the former. Academy has really prepared me for my future endeavors and I think that every year as it goes forward as a school it continues to build on and get better. This is true with teachers and new facilities and events. Out of the schools in the Doral area, Doral Academy is truly the best high school education you can attain. In the Miami area, it’s certainly a strong competitor against other powerhouse schools that have been dominating the educational sphere for a long time. I believe that maybe 5 years from now after I graduate, Doral Academy will be amongst the best of the best in Miami!

The students have been involved in elite programs, gone to the ivy leagues, been drafted to play in the majors, and more! The faculty and staff pushes students to be the best. Although the work might be overwhelming sometimes, at the end it is all worth it when SAT, ACT, and AP scores are released. Teaches are always available if you need help and they even have some workshops that you can be involved in to help yourself improve where you are not doing as well. The performing arts side of the school is incredible! Film students have had their pieces being aired at the AMC theatre in Times Square & have placed in both national & international film competitions! The music program is phenomenal as well. The Firebird singers have performed at Carnegie Hall, Adrienne Arsht Center, FIU, & other festivals! They were even in Sony Recording Label's own Leslie Grace's music video singing in the background! Photography has won so many awards in many different competitions!
My experience at Doral Academy has been one that has a work-driven culture at the school has high academic expectations and students are encouraged to join extracurriculars. As a charter school, students from all over the Miami area are enrolled because Doral Academy grants students a quality of education and opportunities that the average public school cannot provide. There is also a fair share of insightful teachers that inspire students to look at the course beyond just working for a grade. There are sufficient resources such as tutoring and academic opportunities such as dual-enrollment programs, internships, and scholarships. One thing I would improve would be the individual focus on each student so that each is accustomed to their personal academic needs. Overall, being a school of choice, this is a great option for parents to enroll their children in.
