Great teachers but not much college oppurtunity. The school may be big but not much diversity everyone knows each other but is not that good. Bullying is common in school and the staff do not really consider affected students. Classes are easy and need to be more challenging as it is a pre workout towards college life. There is not alot of college classes to take and some are with a rigorous Univeristy not worth taking the class. Students have potential but teachers are not involved with students that do not put in the work. If students were looked out for a better average overall will determine a success. As far as resources they keep up with updates and make sure students are able to access computers, printers, etc. Career readiness is very important as it gives a second chance for students. If classes are not their thing this workshops help them know skills and potentially get certified to work after high school. As far as this high school their are more opportunities elsewhere.
What I enjoyed about my experience at Donna High was the bonding between the community. For instance, with the marching band during the football games, all the people on the stands are cheering and singing with the band. No matter if they are strangers or of different ages, the love of the school pride is remarkable. Additionally, with the school's great pride, the focus on the children's education is look over respectfully because it offers CTE courses for individuals to look at a different type of career that does not necessarily need a college degree. It also has CC, college courses, classes that will be available to be transferred for the college for individuals future college or university.
My experience here has been awesome up until my senior year. All my teachers for the first three years were amazing and I loved them. However, there is one teacher that I have my senior year and she’s been reported many times and I feel like nothing has really been done to help the students because she has brought us down. I have never had any problems with my teachers and no class has ever given me anxiety but this class does. I just wish something would be done about it. Other than that, this high school is awesome.
