Our Cambridge program is very challenging but it also helps the students prepare better for their college experience. The school breakfast and lunch, however, are sometimes cold and unpleasant along with it sometimes having mold on them. We do, however, have vending machines that have very delicious options but they do overly price them. In my middle school snacks were about .50 cents but to get a snack in high schools its like 1.50. Also the bathrooms can be a bit disgusting. That's mostly on the students, but one time i witnessed the janitors (my freshman year 2015) dip the mop into the toilet and wash the bathroom floor with it. That's just about the only down falls of Dixie. We do however has an amazing library and great SAT and ACT practices. Dixie strives to do the best they can with raises the students SAT/ACT scores and help the students graduate ready for college.

Dixie Hollins is a great school, the principle is eager every morning to come on the announcements and tell us that we can achieve our goals. He also never fails to say good morning to every person who walks through the schools main enterance. In other words, Dixe has a friendly enviroment that lets all people feel welcome.

Dixie is also a great school because we are provided with many programs, elective courses and rigourous courses such as Culinary Arts, Graphic Arts, Cosmetology, Aice- classes, AP classes, and more.

I have never had bad experiences here in Dixie and i dont plan on leaving any time soon!
I am a former student. With my past experience at Dixie, I can assure that it is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I understand many parents become afraid when seeing the graduation rate and things as such. In reality, progress has been made, even safety wise. Last year, a new principle came along and he engages with students and has set a goal for the students and the school itself. Teachers are good, and there is such diversity! Dixie has a reputation and is even called "Dirty Dixie" at times. A lot of this comes to the response that there is a daycare center in the back of the school for students with kids. This doesn't mean that they are encouraging more students to have babies, I see it in a way that provides supports for students that can not find childcare and they can still attend school. All in all, aside from test scores, and student grades, it is not as bad as people make it out to be.
