The small school is misleading and rather hypocritical. There is hardly any form of arts programs, and the music department is poorly funded. Sports are favored among all, and games have large turn outs for it being a tiny town. Hardly any diversity among students, but hosting a foreign exchange student is always on the table. Being here since my sophomore year, I hardly saw any change. There are classes that deal with living away from parents, and that teach valuable financial and political lessons on what to expect in the real world. The school is not fantastic, but it has its perks.

I would love to see more clubs. One of my favorite clubs is the chess club. We, unfortunately, didn't have a chess club till my sophomore year of school and because of this, I don't feel like I'm as good as I could've been. I have however participated in many rated and unrated tournaments and I've also completed in the FEDA World Chess Championship for the disabled.
I have loved Divide County High School ever since I first came here in third grade. It is a small school and area, which allows for deeper friendships and everyone feels like family. The teachers are very supportive of both academics and extra-curricular activities and encourage students to participate in everything.
