There is a very good music program that allows a deep, immersive understanding of music theory, composition, and styles of playing music. The classes are challenging and the food in the cafeteria is decent. However, the dress code for girls is strict and unfair. While boys can go around wearing short-shorts, girls get dress-coded if their shorts are slightly too short. The teachers I had were nice, but some were strict. Lunch is short and there is no freedom where people can sit. The connections are by far the best part of the school, the teachers are nice and the classes are fun. Dickerson uses scantrons way too much and the tests are often harder than the material learnt.

Honestly, many children there are racist and homophobic. Good school if you are a white conservative. Most of the teachers do not care about you, most only care about making the school look good. The teachers are working for themselves, not the students. The very small portion of teachers that really do care about my or other students' education are the ones who got me through middle school. Yes, I guess it is an okay school, but its just se sad to go to, I always felt that the days were on repeat and I was feeling depressed. The COUNSELORS do not care about the kids, well, maybe some do but in my experiences, they never really helped.
Dickerson Middle School is an okay school. I moved from Michigan to this school and everyone was very welcoming. However, I must say that the student freedom is poor. There is no student council, or anyway for students to be heard. Also the dress code is a little strict for girls and you don't get to sit where you want at lunch. With that being said, I must say that the teachers are amazing. If you need help with a subject, they are always there to guide you. On top of that, they are so kind and they make learning fun with out of the box ideas. In addition, the cafeteria food is meh, (let me warn you that the cheese is gross). In conclusion, the teachers are amazing, the rules are a bit strict, the food is okay, and the people are overall very friendly. It is hard to not make friends at Dickerson Middle School. Trust me... this is a great atmosphere!
