I've had a decent experience at D'Iberville High School. The rules could be a little less strict (No wearing basketball shorts, needing a pass to go to a different classroom before school starts, only allowing mesh or clear bookbags). The teachers were pretty fair and are willing to work with you. The school is lacking with not having clubs and sports that other schools have. The clubs the school offer are friendly and fun, but they are also underfunded. The students and faculty show great school spirit, something that I didn't from other schools. The school does a great job of preparing you for college with it's higher academic courses. The food could be better. Overall the school does the best with what it can do, and it is decent place to attend school.

Attending DHS has been an interesting experience, to say the least. I've run into multiple problems with the administration, including one incident which resulted in 36 demerits with 3 days OSS, through no fault of my own. The administration has no leniency, even when their actions go against the academic interest of their high achieving students.

In addition to this, the students are treated like animals. The administration frequently punishes all students for the actions of few. Our 20 minutes allotted to "break" time was taken away from everyone in reaction to one fight during break. Instead of just punishing those involved, every student had break taken away. This kind of "preventative measure" that they always enforce decreases student morale and plant seeds of resentment towards authority in these students' minds. This was just one incident, but with every action they've taken, we may as well be escorted from class to class in a straight line.
DHS is a decent school with a lot of diversity and opportunity. The school is very serious about education and discipline. The block schedule allows students to enjoy their day a lot more freely because of the lack of pressure from multiple classes. The teachers at DHS are very nice and caring toward the students; however, some are too lax toward students leading to a disruptive class. The school does offer a wide range of clubs and activities, but some of the sponsors for these clubs are terrible and not fit for the job. The lunch menu is not very appealing because of the lack of variety. The administration is very strict and sometimes unforgiving toward the student. Overall, this is a very decent but it could use some change to make it better.
