Attending Destrehan High School was an amazing experience. The school provides its students with many opportunities and really prepares them for college and careers. Even students who are not going to college are given tools for success and receive guidance down their chosen path as well. Additionally, the school has many honors, Dual Enrollment, and Advanced Placement classes where students can receive either university or technical college credit while still in high school. Outside of the classroom, the school has many academic and cultural organizations ranging from band to beta to a gamer's club. Also, the students, faculty, and staff, despite being a large school, all feel like a part of a large family. Finally, Destrehan High School is a very safe school. There is only one entry-point, there are monthly emergency drills, and there is a full-time police officer on campus.

Destrehan High School brings so many opportunities to students that allows them to choose a life that is right for them. The environment is loving, welcoming, and safe. If a student attends Destrehan and they do not achieve their goals, it is their own fault because Destrehan gives every student all the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. Their are so many clubs and organizations that range from academics to culture. Destrehan also provides some of the best resources for students to be more than college ready. The staff, faculty, students, and community are helpful, caring, and supportive. One of the best high schools in Louisiana.
Destrehan High school is an A rated school, and I believe it's rightly so. The school has practically no bullying problems, and the teachers are almost always there for the students no matter what. The school tries its best to keep students happy with things such as small "parties" where each grade level gets different things. This school also leverages its high school rival to do good for the world by having a contest of who can donate the most money to cancer research. Overall, this school is great and I couldn't have asked for a better one. In fact. the biggest "problem" would be the food quality, and that isnt even that bad! I want this school to continue to be great, so to make it better the school should invest a lot into the latest technology to help the classrooms. This school deserves way better than what it has right now.
