Overall, the teachers have been great. Due to our religious beliefs, some of the material and videos being used went against our beliefs. This was addressed to the teachers and they quickly made adjustments for my kids.
Now, counseling shouldn't be forced upon the students without prior parental consent. Some of the materials being taught during those counseling sessions went against our beliefs and every time it was addressed or my kids said something that they didn't agree with, they were told to stop by the counselor or the teacher in the class. If acceptance is part of the culture, it needs to be acceptance for all and not just for those who agree with their views. Unless a child is in need, counseling should not be mandatory and it shouldn't go against what is being taught at home. The counselor and teachers involved in those sessions should receive additional training on inclusion for not just some people, cultures and views, but for all.

My experience at Destinations Career Academy of Colorado have always been positive. The staff and teachers are really there to help you along your way through high school, though it's not perfect with how the school system glitches sometimes. And that the clubs are hosted only online, there are no meet-ups as far as I'm aware but It's my only complaint about it.
There needed to be more of an outreach for the social aspect of online school. Being a state school, many of the events were too distant to be reasonable for me to attend and as such, I had no friends all throughout high school. There was no way for students to interact one on one, no contact information available, not even a student email. Teachers discouraged the sharing of personal information during class connects as well. This contributed to me having no friends. I also disliked the English curriculum, feeling like it was too repetitive to what I learned in middle school, the tests too hit or miss, and the course, overall, too boring.
