I love the school and so many opportunities for me came from here like getting a full ride scholarship to a precollege in NYC, winning awards, and finding design based competitions! I chose to go into fashion and DASH's curriculum really helped shape my future and give me a great head start! The location is great too it's right in the design district. I will forever be thankful for my education from DASH!
My school provides students the opportunity to explore artistic interests to an extreme. DASH teaches kids Fashion, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphics, and Film, along with art of course. These courses are critical to our development and allow us, students, to think differently. We think like designers and artists. The skills we develop at this amazing school allow us to work with other designers and bring a new perspective to the table. We get to create beautiful portfolios that will help us when applying to college. DASH also rewards students with scholarships such as a 3 week trip to SVA and Parsons in New York City, fully paid. These opportunities are only available at DASH. This school is fantastic, allowing students to explore their passion for art on a deeper level.
This school was a unique place and it was a unique experience that you won't have in any other high school. This school got you ready for college. All the teachers are passionate about what they teach. Many of the teachers at DASH come from their field to teach the next generation of architects, graphic designers, directors, filmmakers, and industrial and fashion designers. As a DASH student, I had many opportunities to showcase my work and portfolio due to the school's good relationships with many top-tier colleges around the country. The school is very diverse with students from many different backgrounds and particular skill sets that you don't see in many high school students today. DASH was and is not your typical art high school, rather it is unique and rich with amazing teachers, education, opportunities, and I believe I wouldn't have had this cool high school experience if I went to a regular school.
