This year has been a challenge. College applications and the DASH workload can often be tiring. However, there is not a better high school in Miami to attend than my school. The faculty and environment are outstanding! All my teachers encourage me to push my work to the next level. The principal and counselor doors are open 24/7. I truly love how supportive everyone is including the generators.

DASH kids love to complain about how many classes we take, how little we sleep, and how long we commute, but if you really want to be at DASH, it's worth those sacrifices.

DASH is the place to be if you are interested in graphic design, ID, fashion design, or architecture. You will come out of your strand with a portfolio that will get you into a top college or entry level job in that field. You should also like fine art enough to endure it every year, but it isn't the focus of the school.

The school has lots of clubs (honors societies, hobbies, performing) and special events (portfolio day, halloween, field day) that contribute to the days still being fun, even when everyone is stressed with their work.

Overall, I would recommend DASH to any kid who wants a unique high school experience surrounded by creative people. You will come out prepared to work hard and adapt no matter where you go after high school.
Have academic teachers and design strand teachers actually talk to each other. Some deadlines and test dates were just impossible and caused many breakdowns. Also brief the academic teachers that this is a design school, the majority will pursue something in that field. We shouldn't be "putting as much effort into algebra 2 as your design strand", as I was told by a teacher "they're equally important". Also the ability to not have to take an AP art class senior year, would've much rather taken another course.
