I went to Desert Vista High School from 2009-2013. I had an excellent high school experience at Desert Vista. The staff at the school is very friendly—everyone from security and cafeteria staff to teachers and administrators. When you are on campus, you really feel a good sense of community; you feel welcomed and safe. The teachers are excited to teach and the students are generally exited to learn. My teacher’s all throughout my high school experience cared a lot about each and every one of their students and contributed to their success by getting involved in clubs and sports teams when they could. The extra-curricular opportunities at Desert Vista are endless. There is a club or a sports team for everyone.
Review Desert Vista High School
In the four years I attended Desert Vista High School, I enjoyed it tremendously. The teachers, support staff and coaches are amazing! I was encouraged daily to enjoy my high school experience as well as work hard. DVHS is an awesome school.
I'm going to be a Junior in the 2017-2018 year at Desert Vista HS. Desert Vista is a school that wants their student to be prepared for college and that is why they push us so hard. Something that I would like to change is the way they way they handle certain circumstances. Coming from a background different from a majority of the students it's sometimes difficult to understand the way teachers teach. That is why I always ask question, whether it's on new material or simply asking what a word means. And because I ask these questions some students think I'm uneducated or ignorant. Even some teacher fail to realize that not all of their students speak the same way or understand some words due to the way they are spoken to at home. So I think that teachers should be open-minded to the fact that all students are different and that they shouldn't judge them based on the fact that they speak or communicate differently.
